What are the limits in coaching?

The Romanian Association for Coaching (ARC) and Dan Mocanu invite you to an open training with an exclusive focus on practice, destined both to beginners and experts on coaching.

Training sessions are periodically organized by ARC under the supervision of a Romanian coach with international accreditation.

On October 18th 2011 will take place the session called „What are the limits in coaching?” with Dan Mocanu as supervisor. Dan is Associate Certified Coach of International Coaching Federation and Blue Ocean Strategy practitioner.

The training is designed to improve the coaching skills, to increase the number of hours of personal development, supervision and / or mentoring, to develop a personal style of coaching.

The session takes place on October 18th 2011, at the event space of ARC, between 17:30-21:00 hours. The participation fee is 150 Ron / person (VAT included), and the registration and payment deadline is October 14th 2011. Email: contact at coaching-arc punct ro.

 

Case study: Organizational Transformation for Building Support Services (BSS)

For 10 months, Aperio worked with 43 executives from six management levels of the company Building Support Services to implement two strategic objectives: organizational transformation and responsibility at individual, team and organizational level.

Dan Mocanu, Blue Ocean Strategy Practitioner 

At the beginning of June 2011, Dan Mocanu completed the Blue Ocean Strategy- BOS Practitioner Course in Miami, based on the methodology created by W. Chan Kim and Renee Mauborgne.

Blue Ocean Strategy represents a method of value innovation, that helps a company pursuit both differentiation and low cost.

The major advantage of the strategy consists of innovative market approach. A Blue Ocean company, instead of investing important resources to outperform the competition of the specific industry, it creates a new market space (or blue ocean), making the competition irrelevant.

 

Performance, a 'false friend'?

While learning English, at some point you find out about the word „hardly”, already knowing the word „hard”. The instinct tells they are connected, or at least have something in common. On the field you learn that „hardly” means „improbable” and has nothing to do with „hard”. These trap-words are called „false friends” and you are warned about them from the beginning, when you study a foreign language.

A foreigner learning Romanian language learns that in most cases, words finishing with the vowel „a” represent the feminine form. The early vocabulary includes simple words like „lup – lupi” (wolf – wolves). Hence, learning the word „lupa” (magnifier) seems the feminine of „lup”.  The consequences are obvious.
